Gemma

Definition

Family of open models from Google, lightweight and with publicly available weights, derived from the same research as Gemini. They allow local or self-hosted execution and fine-tuning by the developer.

Exam context

In GENAI-L (Domains 1 and 2) the exam asks about the difference from Gemini: Gemini is a proprietary model served as a managed API; Gemma are open models that an organization can download, self-host, and freely customize.
