A serverless compute engine for containers that works with ECS and EKS. It removes the need to provision and manage servers (EC2 nodes). The customer only defines the CPU and memory resources needed.
On CLF-C02 and SAA-C03: Fargate = serverless for containers. Key difference: with the EC2 launch type you manage the nodes; with Fargate you don't. Question: run containers without managing infrastructure → Fargate.
AWS Fargate is a concept that can show up on the exam. Check the full guide to see it in context.
