Terraform

terraform apply -replace (formerly taint)

Definition

A mechanism to force the destruction and recreation of a specific resource on the next apply, useful when a resource is in an inconsistent state that a normal configuration change won't fix.

Exam context

In Terraform Associate the tested evolution is: terraform taint (deprecated since v0.15.2) marked the resource in the state; the modern approach is terraform apply -replace=<address>, which achieves the same effect without a separate prior command.
