Prompt Flow

Definition

Microsoft Foundry (classic portal) and Azure Machine Learning tool for designing, testing, and evaluating flows that combine prompts, model calls, and Python code in a visual graph. It is no longer recommended for new development and retires on April 20, 2027; its replacement is Microsoft Agent Framework.

Exam context

Older study material presents it as the way to build complex GenAI flows (e.g., multi-step RAG) without writing all the orchestration from scratch; the current AI-901 skills outline focuses on agents and the Foundry SDK. Question: chain a context search, a prompt, and post-processing visually and with versioning → Prompt Flow.
