Cloud Load Balancing

Definition

Google Cloud’s family of managed load balancers. Application Load Balancers handle HTTP(S) (with URL-based routing and a global option with an anycast IP); Network Load Balancers work at layer 4, as proxy or passthrough, in external and internal versions.

Exam context

On the ACE you pick by scenario: global web with TLS → global external Application LB; UDP or preserving the client IP → regional passthrough Network LB; traffic only inside the VPC → an internal load balancer.
